My husband and I chose American Eagle for our latest remodel project based upon our first experience with Bill Whelan and his team during a past basement and sunroom addition. As with the first remodel, we knew we didn't need to worry about giving them complete access to the house or how the project would be managed. This was a large undertaking, very complicated existing older house with varied heights of ceilings and floors. We remodeled the entire main living area which included moving a staircase, taking down walls, beams, renovating two bathrooms , a bedroom, and enlarging the kitchen, adding a walk-in pantry and wine/coffee bar. The project ran very smoothly, and was completed on time as promised. All the members of the crews and subcontractors were professional and friendly. They showed up at the same time every morning and were conscientious about cleaning up at the end of the day. Garry and his team were amazing! The first day on project a wall was put up to protect the rest of the house from construction dust. Everything was done with care and each day the construction area was cleaned when workers left. Load bearing wall was moved and non-load bearing wall was removed. The kitchen/dining area was down to bare studs! Then the magic started to happen! New ceiling with can lighting, new electrical system, plumbing, new walls and every detail taken care of. Soon the new cabinets were being installed, the granite was ready, the new floors were going in and the painting was done! No detail was too small. This was our second experience with American Eagle and both have been excellent. This job was a complete kitchen remodel and included tearing down walls, moving appliances, new cabinets and floors. We wanted a turnkey job but did not have a detailed spec. We had a general idea of what we wanted and American Eagle took our vision and made it reality. They offered many excellent suggestions both before and during the project. It is obvious that they are experienced and have a great feel for what works and what doesn't. The project was completed in exactly five weeks as promised. The communication was excellent. We knew the schedule and what was happening next. They worked very hard to keep the project on time and within budget. The day started at 7:30 and they were always on time. We were never left wondering where they were and if someone would be coming that day. The people they work with from cabinets to granite to painters, plumbers and electricians were all consummate professionals. We were not home the entire time and we were very comfortable giving them complete access. At the end of the day the house was locked up and the construction area cleaned up. They did an excellent job of minimizing disruption. Hiccups, such as pipes needing to be moved, were handled as part of the job. We made a few changes along the way and never felt nickel and dimed. I have lived in Fayette County for 21 years. I had heard continued praises for American Eagle. 15 years ago, I had them build a detached garage. I described what I was thinking, they drew it on paper and it was exactly what I had in my head. We had a drainage problem (caused from the original bullder). Garry Heget created a solution and came by the house multiple times months later (when it finally rained) to make sure it was working.
